Also, does waxing use NAIR-like product to inhibit further growth or make it grow back thin/fine and wispy?

Guy asking - Does waxing produce as many ingrown hairs as shaving? Waxing rips out the hairs from the root. When they grow back they are usually thinner and finer, but ingrowth can be a problem because they do grow again from the root and can get trapped under the skin. You will have less irritation from regrowth, though, because you won't have tiny itchy cut hairs growing out, but the small new hairs.
Nair is a chemical product that supposedly dissolves the hair from the root, having a similar effect to waxing without the ripping-out effect. I have never had success with it on my leg hairs, though, but many others like it and/or Veet and use them faithfully.

Guy asking - Does waxing produce as many ingrown hairs as shaving? Waxing is too painful. Try the nair, but it does not always work well. There is a Nair for men. My hub shaves and uses the Nair. He has to constantly nair or shave. Best thing to do is to go to the gym, and ask a body builder. Most remove ALL of their hair, with exception of whats on their heads.
Waxing is problably the best if you can handle it. It pulls the hair out at the root, and is softer when it grows out. It is not cut level like a shaver. Nair can cause irritation, so if you use it, test a small area first.
One more thing! I prefer to use a conditioner like you would on your hair, in place of shaving cream or gel. Try it, you will get better results from a shave, and your shaver will glide across smoothly and cause less iritation.

Nair doesn't really inhibit growth, it just slows it down.
Just remember, wherever you take hair off, you have to keep doing it otherwise your hair will grow back thicker.
