Body hair waxing problems???

OK I waxed my chest and back (with wife's help) a couple of months ago. Then we did a repeat. The issue is ingrown hairs when they grow back in - they are so numerous and bad it is horrible and I'll never do it again. On my chest is not as bad because I can deal with them as they pop up but my back turned into a mess of acne which I of course cannot take care of myself. It's clearing up but taking time.

How do people who get waxed regularly avoid these problems? If I had it done professionally would it have been any different?

Oh by the way in case it matters I am 33.

You should rub essential oils and lotions on yourself afterward to avoid skin irritation. Also, don't touch the area of your body that has been waxed for AT LEAST 1 hour. Waxing opens up the pores, and when you touch the spot that was waxed, bacteria gets into those pores and causes major acne.

So , sometimes people have reactions to the wax as well, A product called, tend skin, is great for the ingrowns, if I were you i would buy a good pair of clippers or start shaving it all instead, still gets rid of hair and no problems ..good luck!!!!

Professionally would not have made a difference.

You must have curly hair, because people with curly hair have much more ingrown hair problems than people with straight hair. It's just the way it is and it may ease as you keep doing it and the hair gets weaker. I think if you must, keep waxing and be patient as your hairs will gorw in thinner and finer causing less ingrowns and less frequent waxing will be needed. But you do have to hang in there for 6/7 months or so. It will ease with each waxing.
